Chrisna, 52 – The 50 Over 50 Women’s Portrait Campaign
Chrisna, 52
Where are you from, and where do you currently live?
Pretoria, South Africa
If your friends were to describe you, what would they say?
Extraordinary, fabulous and dynamic.
What is your favourite quote or saying?
“I will try anything at least once!”
What would you say you are most proud of?
My kids and the amazing people they have become
My mom and the incredible example she is.
What advice would you give your younger self?
Life is short, make every day count! Stay out of the sun.
What is a goal or dream you still wish to accomplish?
Making my new business a success.
Tying up all the loose ends of the past.
Finding my new self and building a new home.
Serious empty next challenge awaits!
Completing my current writing course and then doing Travel Writing as well.
Travel to Turkey and Luxor, write a novel – I know it’s very cliche. Hike the Fish River Canyon and Machu Picchu in 2024 and the Kumano Kodo in Japan in 2025.
What are your thoughts on ageing?
Honestly, I enjoy getting older and wiser.
As a woman there are obviously challenges like the regular power surges I experience (Eskom could probably use me in a power station to generate much needed electricity),
using that extra collagen and remebering to drink it evry day, staying hydrated even if I hate drinking water, and keeping fit.
In general I am grateful that I am still so helathy and that I am able to do all the things I love, like hiking, working, dancing at festivals and just enjoying each day.
What did you enjoy most about The 50 Over 50 Women’s Portrait Campaign? And how did the experience leave you feeling?
Having my own hair stylist follow me around with a fan (menopause is real!)
Jokie aside, I loved picking outfits like a young girl again and dressing up.
I am definitely not so camera shy anymore, I now pose like a model!
Thank you Donna for doing hair and makeup.
Thank you Chrisna for all the laughs! You are hilarious and Donna and I had such a great time getting to know you.
