Where are you from, and where do you currently live?
Born in South Africa, and currently living in Bellville, Cape Town.
If your friends were to describe you, what would they say?
Stubborn yet delightful, disciplinarian yet very sexy, very polite and pleasant (more than 3 words but I had to do a survey and come up with what was said more than once, LOL)
What is your favourite quote or saying?
“I am living my life like it’s Golden”
What would you say you are most proud of?
I am proud of the person I have become having to raise 2 kids on my own; I am proud of the fact that at the company I am working at I started out as a temp in their accounts department
and now I am the sales manager of two of their branches.
Most of all I am proud of the woman I have become after being diagnosed with Breast Cancer and I am now proudly in remission.
What advice would you give your younger self?
I would not change anything about this, I have become the person I am today because of all the decisions(whether good or bad)
I made when I was younger and this is the path that was set upon me.
What is a goal or dream you still wish to accomplish?
I would love to do skydiving.
What are your thoughts on ageing?
I know this a question everyone dreads but I love the ageing process, always loved going through this process through the years,
Even when I was a teenager I wondered what I would look like when older however one thing I know is the ageing process is all up to you and how you deal with it.
What did you enjoy most about The 50 Over 50 Women’s Portrait Campaign? And how did the experience leave you feeling?
I loved being treated like the Queen of someone else’s Castle(Monica’s studio),
Monica and Donna have been nothing but amazing. It was like meeting two people that you do not know, yet you feel like you have known them for ages, and they make an amazing team.
I have never had a problem with ageing and this 50 over 50 experience is exactly the perfect campaign to show all those amazingly beautiful women out there
that there is life after 50! and YES you can be and feel beautiful irrespective of what life has thrown at you!
“EMBRACE IT LADIES”
I felt totally amazingly beautiful, stunning, graceful yet playful and just gorgeous I LOVED IT!
How did you hear about The 50 Over 50?
I entered a competition on Instagram and what a fabulous birthday present it was!
Donna and I had a super time with Crystal. The moment Crystal arrived, it was like a group of girlfriends catching up and chatting as though we hadn’t seen each other in ages!
Crystal was the winner of a 50 Over 50 Women’s Portrait Campaign Experience, which was a collaboration with Marna Grobler, owner of ’50 And Me’ blog, which as Marna says
‘is a platform for women to tell their stories and share their paths to happiness and success.
A place to find a sense of belonging, and be part of a village of like-minded women.
Women are achieving their best success, happiness and fulfilment after 40, rather than just hanging on, experience and wisdom now mean our best days are in front of us.”
