Where are you from, and where do you currently live?

Somerset West, Western Cape

 

If your friends were to describe you, what would they say?

Kind, forgiving, loving and warm.

 

What is your favourite quote or saying?

“A strong woman smiles in times of trouble, gathers strength from distress and grows brave by reflection.” Thomas Paine

“Everyone has inside them,  a piece of good news.”

 

What would you say you are most proud of?

Most proud of – I’m most proud of how I’ve grown. I have always learnt from my mistakes and want to improve.

I need to learn to say “no” sometimes. So in a sense, I’m a bit of a pushover!

 

What advice would you give your younger self?

Travel, see the world. Never change who you are.

 

What is a goal or dream you still wish to accomplish?

I am so very content with my life. There are things I cannot change, and that’s ok. I look forward to the future.

 

What are your thoughts on ageing?

I have never been scared of aging.  Aging is beautiful, it’s natural, and it’s denied to many.

Looking forward to the next chapter of being a grandma.

 

What did you enjoy most about The 50 Over 50 Women’s Portrait Campaign? And how did the experience leave you feeling?

I enjoyed every second. I need to thank your sister, Sharon who is one of my best friends, for asking and convincing me. It made me feel beautiful.
