Family photo shoot in Yzerfontein / West Coast

Johan contacted me from Botswana to say that he would be in Yzerfontein on the West Coast with his wife Sandra, daughter Bella and his in-laws and wanted a family photo shoot.  Yzerfontein is a harbour town, about 90km north of Cape Town, and translated it means ‘Iron fountain’. I arrived in Yzer early so I could do a recce of the beach and see what the weather was doing.  It was a super windy day, and I prayed that it would at least die down a bit so that it became more of a breeze.  Well, it was windy, but it was so warm and so lovely on the beach, the wind actually worked in our favor, and love the energy and emotion in the images.  Their daughter Bella is absolutely adorable, and had so many facial expressions. One minute pure joy, and the next curiosity.  She loved it when an ostrich strutted along the beach, and she started calling it ‘Olifant’ (elephant).  Made me laugh so much. I’m so happy I got to meet this warm, easy going family and they were incredibly natural in front of the camera.
