Terina, 63 – ‘The 50 Over 50 Women’s Portrait Campaign’
Terina, 63
Where are you from, and where do you currently live?
I was born and raised in South Africa, and currently live in the suburbs of Durbanville, Cape Town.
If your friends were to describe you, what would they say?
Terina is the kindest, most loving and most caring person with a heart of gold.
Family is extremely important to her – and she is gives of herself – unconditionally (from her friend Belinde)
What is your favourite quote or saying?
I used to say to my kids “I love you more than you will ever love me” until they told me that I am wrong. They love me just as must. So now I don’t have a quote hahaha
What would you say you are most proud of?
Raising my two girls who turned out to be wonderful young women and starting my own business and working very hard to make it successful.
Believe in yourself. You are not a bad person and people like you because of you. Don’t walk in the shadow of other people.
You can be your own person and there is someone out there that will love and cherish you for who and what you are.
If somebody says you are looking good, believe it and don’t think they are just saying so to make you feel better.
I wish I knew all this as a child, then I would have believed in myself as and adult.
What advice would you give your younger self?
What is a goal or dream you still wish to accomplish?
My goal in live is to make a success of my business “Terene Characters” which I started after my sister passed away at the age of 44 years.
I have started to work on set as well to learn as much as I can about the business which is not easy as it’s a cutthroat industry.
I want to be the best mom and granny for my kids and grandkids so that they can be proud of me.
I would like to be the woman my mom was and is and most of all I WANT TO BELIEVE IN MYSELF AND BE HAPPY.
What are your thoughts on aging?
Age is a number. You have to make the best of what God has given you. My mom is 86 this year and still one of the top Managers of Avon.
What did you enjoy most about The 50 Over 50 Women’s Portrait Campaign? And how did the experience leave you feeling?
Terina’s friend Belinde booked the 50 Over 50 portrait session for both of them, as they’ve been best friends for years.
It was special for them to have some quality time in the studio having their portraits taken. Belinde’s blog will be up next!
