Carli & Family Photo Session | Wine Farm | South Africa

Carli was one of the incredible women who took part in my 20 Stories Women’s Portrait Campaign. After her portrait experience, she asked if I would travel out to Worcester to photograph her entire family. Of course, I said yes.

I met up with them at her grandmother’s care home for some photos, and then we headed to a property in the middle of a wine farm for 2nd half of the session.  Carli gathered everyone together, her sister, their children, her mom, and the nieces and nephews, for a full family photoshoot.

The children loved running barefoot on the grass, and the whole afternoon unfolded in a relaxed, unhurried way.

As with all my shoots, we took time to pause and talk in between. We laughed, shared stories, then picked up the camera again. It was as much about enjoying being together as it was about making photographs. What struck me most was how lovely it was for the cousins to have that quality time together—space to play, connect, and simply be a family in a tranquil setting.

It’s not just about the photos. It’s about that time when the phones go down, everyone is in one place and present together, and you remember how much fun it is to laugh and be together as a family.
A family photo session is about love, energy, and connection, and the images become a reminder of that feeling long after the day.
