Ish, The 40 Over 40 Women’s Portrait Campaign
Ish, 47
I have been described by my friends and family as…
Sympathetic, highly tuned sense of style, and hard working.
My best qualities are…
Helping others, being a perfectionist and having a passionate heart.
I am most proud of…
Overcoming cancer and my divorce. and raising my two beautiful, wonderful sons. I also most proud of my strength.
My favourite quotes…
“When you reach the end of your rope,
tie a knot in it, and hang on.” Franklin D. Roosevelt
What advice would I give my 20-year-old self…
Travel and stretch beyond your comfort zone, and learn more about the world.
Develop self-love.
Enjoy your healthy body to the maximum and celebrate its vitality.
Experience the world at the height of your strength and youth.
We all experience many lifetimes in this one life. What did you find were the most poignant changes as you entered your 40’s?
My body was not so resilient, with hormonal changes and brain fog. I figured out what was good and bad for me. At age 40, more things have fallen into place for me, and I have more perspective on life. I have grown from all my previous experiences and I’m living a more intentional life.
Thoughts on aging…
“Getting old is like climbing a mountain.
You get a little out of breath, but the view is much better.” Ingrid Bergman
True beauty is in a woman’s soul. The beauty of a woman, with the passing years, only grows.
I met Ish at my barre class in Greenpoint last year, and we hit it off instantly. Ish is one of the warmest and most welcoming souls I’ve ever met, and being in her company one can only feel uplifted and energized. When Ish arrived at my studio, she was so excited to be photographed! Donna Hay did hair and makeup, and we had music on and the hours flew past. What a day! Here are some favourites from the shoot.
I am fully booked for the 40 Over 40 Women’s Portrait Campaign, but if you are wanting to have a woman’s glamour shoot done, please drop me a mail via my contact page HERE.
The campaign has been an incredible adventure so far, both for myself and the inspiring women I’ve had in front of my camera. I’m looking forward to the exhibition which will be in early July!
Wow! Gorgeous!
