Where are you from, and where do you currently live?

I’m from South Africa, currently living in Rondebosch.

 

If your friends were to describe you, what would they say?

Honest, kind and supportive.

 

What is your favourite quote or saying?

“Practice what you preach.”

 

What would you say you are most proud of?

“I’m very proud of becoming a manager.

It is not something I ever thought I could do.

 

What advice would you give your younger self?

Don’t be in such a hurry to settle down.

Learn to stand up for yourself.  Don’t be a ‘yes’ person.

Go after what you want.

 

What is a goal or dream you still wish to accomplish?

I would still like to travel more; to do a 3-month trip through Alaska and Canada – the railway trip from Vancouver to Halifax.

 

What are your thoughts on ageing?

Age gracefully, and accept your ‘experience lines’ and gray hair. Don’t spend money on something that has to be constantly redone.

You are more than your hair color or facial lines.

 

What did you enjoy most about The 50 Over 50 Women’s Portrait Campaign? And how did the experience leave you feeling?

I really enjoyed talking with Donna and Monica.

I have met some really special women this past year. I believe you have all crossed my path, and I yours, for a reason.

I left there reflecting on my life and the changes that happen.

Donna and I had a lovely time in the studio with Leanne.  Leanne brought her fur child, Cooper along, and he was also a superstar in front of my camera.
