Lebogang, 52 – The 50 Over 50 Women’s Portrait Campaign
Lebogang, 52
Where are you from, and where do you currently live?
Cape Town, South Africa.
If your friends were to describe you, what would they say?
Tenacious, authentic and courageous.
What is your favourite quote or saying?
Until the Lions have their own historians,
tales of African hunting will always glorify the hunter.
What would you say you are most proud of?
My proudest moment is realising that even amid the internal dialogue
of doubt being able to take the leap of faith and courage to listen to the inner
voice of the storyteller and pursue impact storytelling filmmaking. The ability to
bring together the things I am passionate about like nature and the environment
issues, storytelling fashion to tap into my creative source
and bring all of them together allowing me to express and celebrate excellence. Being
able to do this through the creation of a brand Mindful designs as a way of
environmental consciousness by creating beautiful coats that honours extraordinary humans.
What advice would you give your younger self?
Don’t worry, you are doing great and it’s ok to
loosen the barbwire around your heart
What is a goal or dream you still wish to accomplish?
To become an award-winning impact storyteller/filmmaker and to
live abroad for a couple of years where I can make a meaningful contribution and
offer my sons a global lens before returning home.
What are your thoughts on ageing?
Ageing comes with the gift of not being bothered by
insignificant things in life and it is a grace only you can become present to as it unfolds.
What did you enjoy most about The 50 Over 50 Women’s Portrait Campaign? And how did the experience leave you feeling?
I felt spoilt and being treated to the memory of my beauty.
It was such an interesting and inspiring morning spent with Lebogang! I was blown away by the coat she wore at her session, which she designed!
Splashes of colour to match her radiant, and dynamic personality.
