Lindsay, Jan & their boys / Blouberg Beach/ Cape Town

It’s always so lovely for me see and photograph my clients on a regular basis.  This is my 5th photo shoot with Lindsay and Jan, their first being their engagement photo shoot, followed wedding, and then family shoots.  It’s been amazing to see their life journey, and their family growing.  I had fun spending time with them and their boys on the beach in front of Dolphin Beach Hotel We had an early morning start, and when we arrived it was completely misty – but the mist soon lifted and we could see the beach! The boys threw pebbles into the ocean and ran around and played – they had a great time!

Some family shoot tips:

• Wear something you feel comfortable in.  Also stick to lights or darks (so you don’t mix a pink dress on one person, with a red t-shirt on the other).
• Bring an extra outfit for your children incase they end up getting wet in the ocean.
• Make sure everyone eats beforehand, so that no one is hungry on the shoot. But if it’s too early, bring snacks incase they get hungry. Avoid anything with chocolate, or anything runny like yoghurt that could end up over their faces, or on clothes.
• Wetwipes come in handy!
• Sandals for the beach so you don’t have to fuss with shoes and socks.
