Malinda, 50 – The 50 Over 50 Women’s Portrait Campaign

Malinda, 50

Where are you from, and where do you currently live?

Paarl, South Africa

If your friends were to describe you, what would they say?

Compassionate, empathetic and thoughtful

What is your favourite quote or saying?

“My mission is to know HIM better an to make HIM known.”

What would you say you are most proud of?

I adopted two babies at the age of 48, and am a Mother of many vulnerable and orphaned children.

Survivor of rejection and trauma and able to live hopefully and gracefully after 50 with a fulfilling career to glorify the king.

What advice would you give your younger self?

You are chosen to be the King’s masterpiece. He created you because He wanted you. You are his daughter with a unique purpose and assignment. By taking delight in the Lord, His desires will become yours. You are favored and appointed by Christ to bear His fruit as life will unfold your creative gifts. You will be rooted in Jesus and share His inheritance. You will wear a crown of fulfillment and joy in the Lord. God will equip you to be His hands and feet to bring healing and transformation to the brokenhearted, to the barren and to set the captives free. You will dance in spirit and glorify God in all the areas of your life. TRUST HIM ONLY

What is a goal or dream you still wish to accomplish?

I want to be a huge influencer to the world and see how Jesus brings healing, and freedom, set the captives free and comfort to the brokenhearted, joy to those who mourn and witness transformation, and give Jesus ALL the Glory and Honor with my new book and NGO.

What are your thoughts on ageing?

With ageing I learn that life is incredibly fragile. As I mature daily I know the world today I didn’t know yesterday and am excited to see what surprises await me tomorrow.

What did you enjoy most about The 50 Over 50 Women’s Portrait Campaign? And how did the experience leave you feeling?

Behind the lens it made me feel more connected to my inner MaLinda, grateful for celebrating who I am and what I overcame.

I was blessed to connect with a part of me that made me want to run faster to end the race fast with no regrets.

It was so lovely to have Malinda in my studio for the 50 Over 50 Women’s Portrait Campaign.

Malinda and her best friend, Driekie, enjoyed this experience together, and I’m so excited for them to see their portraits in print!

Another remarkable day creating portraits of women, so that they can really see their inner and outer beauty reflected back to them!
