Nadia, 51 – The 50 Over 50 Women’s Portrait Campaign
Nadia, 51
Where are you from, and where do you currently live?
South African living in Bronkhorstspruit, Gauteng.
If your friends were to describe you, what would they say?
Strong, always smiling, contrasts
What is your favourite quote or saying?
“Show me your habits, and I’ll show you your future.” Mark Batterson
What would you say you are most proud of?
My four kids. They give me meaning and a reason to do things with passion.
I firmly believe that you need to lead by example. I hope my life is just a stepping stone for them to achieve more.
What advice would you give your younger self?
Take more chances. Believe in your ability and live with passion and a spirit of excellence.
Just do your best.
God will provide the rest.
Is there a goal or dream you still wish to accomplish?
Most definitely, there is always a dream. Without dreams, we will perish.
My dream is to have a wellness farm.
A place where people can come and learn to heal their bodies the way God intended us to live: mind, body, and spirit.
Learn to breathe, eat healthy foods, and manage stress better.
Get balance in life.
What are your thoughts on ageing?
Getting older is inevitable, but ageing is optional.
Get in touch with nature and learn to press pause, but still be able to learn something new every day.
It is a privilege to get older.
Live life to the fullest. Keep moving
You can complain and fight the process or see how you can work it for your benefit.
My work has taught me that even if you exercise, you get older, but your attitude will be better.
What did you enjoy most about The 50 Over 50 Women’s Portrait Campaign? And how did the experience leave you feeling?
It was a first for me! Monica and Donna made me feel at ease. They are professional and accommodating.
I have respect for all the effort.
The photoshoot and seeing my portraits really boosted my confidence.
Monica was so patient with me when I viewed my beautiful portraits, and needed to select the ones I liked the most.
When Nadia arrived at my studio on a Monday morning, she had been doing a weekend hike. She arrived with a backpack…and out of it, she pulled a beautiful emerald dress and her clothes for her session!
Donna and I laughed when she told us she had been hiking with that bag of clothes! Nadia arrived with her son, who is one of the most well-mannered men I’ve ever met.
Thank you, Nadia – I’m so happy you love your portraits!
