Personal Branding Session/ Desiree

Excited or nervous?  My clients usually feel either one of these emotions before a personal branding photoshoot!  And Des was excited!  We were ready to create some beautiful images to use on her new website and to elevate her brand!

Many of my clients don’t enjoy being photographed – which is normal!  But I’m here to tell you, that I’ll make it easy and relaxed for you. It’s my job to pose you and get the most flattering angles.

This is the 3rd shoot of Des, the 1st being boudoir, and the 2nd, a family shoot.  We met up at Hotel Sky Cape Town a new and trendy hotel in the heart of the CBD.  It was the perfect location for her shoot as she was wanting something with a city feel and semi-formal look.  The lovely Delaney Seibert arrived to do hair and makeup, and I always love her calming presence.

I got to catch up with her husband Shaun, and 2 adorable boys, too, before they headed off to the grandparents.

Des has been studying through the Jay Shetty school and will qualify with a post-grad. Her coaching niche was originally Leadership Coaching for gender balance in the workplace. But after recently also studying NLP (neuro-linguistic programming)  she realised she wants to help people in a different way. Her dad was an alcoholic when Des was growing up, and he entered rehab during that time.

As a family they received no guidance and support, the focus was solely on her dad and his recovery.

Des says “As a family, we didn’t know how to deal with the emotions when my dad came out of rehab. The family dynamics changed and we each coped with it in our own unhealthy way, and the impact of that is seen in our adult lives.”  To date, her dad has been sober for 30 years, and she is very proud of his journey through recovery.

Des now wants to assist families of loved ones suffering from SUD (substance use disorder), by developing strategies to create the change they desire for a productive, peaceful, and enjoyable future.

She has a very exciting career ahead as a ‘Family Recovery Coach’,  and I wish her all the best with the adventures that lie ahead!
