Syl, Tobias & Philip’s Family Shoot / Skanör / Sweden
Life has been made up of so many wonderful adventures and experiences for me. The people that have come into my life on my journey have played such a huge part in it. I met Syl and Tobias in 2014 when they eloped in Cape Town, and I photographed their wedding in Camps Bay (click here). I knew when I met them both, that we would see each other again, because we had such a great connection. And then we did…only this time, with Philip, who they proudly said was ‘made in Cape Town‘.
They moved to the south of Sweden from Prague, to a small, charming city called Skanör in Skåne county (close to Denmark). I arrived on a Thursday late afternoon, and they were kind enough to take me out for dinner to a gorgeous restaurant called Badhytten, right on the beach so we could catch up on life. I love their natural approach to raising Philip. From the beginning he has been everywhere with them, going to restaurants and travelling, and he loves it!!
The next morning we got up early and headed to the beach, which is lined with colourful beach huts. We were the only people on the beach and it was stunning so early in the morning. After their beach shoot, Philip was tired, so took a little snooze at home while Syl and I had breakfast. Tobias headed off to work, and then when Philip woke up, I did a few of him and Syl in the house and then the last few in the garden. Their home is modern and effortlessly stylish – I was so inspired!
I had an amazing time seeing them again, meeting Philip and getting to enjoy a new place. My life is richer for it.
