Hair and Make up: Donna Hay

Dominique first came to my studio for some headshots and casual portraits last year.

She loved her session with Donna and I so much, that she signed up for ‘The 50 Over 50 Women’s Portrait Campaign Experience“, not once but twice!

The journey with Dominique has been nothing short of extraordinary, both artistically and personally.

Renaming the series to “The Evolution of Dominique” perfectly encapsulates the profound transformation she underwent throughout our sessions.

It’s fascinating how each encounter allowed her to blossom further, with every portrait unveiling a deeper sense of comfort and self-assuredness.

Transitioning from the dynamic, flowing movements of the initial “flow series” to the exploration of shadows and playful lighting in subsequent sessions was a captivating progression.

It not only showcased Dominique’s versatility but also revealed new dimensions of her personality and inner strength.

Our collaboration has truly been a testament to the transformative power of photography, capturing not just moments,

but the essence of growth and self-discovery…to the profound connection forged through our creative journey together.

It’s a reminder of the profound impact portrait photography can have, not just in capturing beauty but in empowering individuals to embrace their true selves;

and to step into a part of themselves they may have forgotten about.

It is so important that we get an opportunity to see our best selves…our most radiant, powerful, empowered selves…and the photography session achieves that…it makes it tangible.

because once the person has seen herself that way…she is more likely to make that mental connection between the image of herself that she sees…and who she is.

It helps her then become her best self…and it becomes a “oh my word, that IS me…!”

and then she rises to meet her.
