Family Portrait Shoot / Llandudno Beach
Family photo shoot on the beach! Two dynamic, free spirited children, and a mom that’s a quirky ENT doctor!
This was an ideal blend for a really fun family shoot! Mia and Thomas ran all over the beach, chasing each other, and screaming as the waves joined in. With high tide we had to keep running towards dry sand every time another wave came rushing in. I turned my back for a moment, Mia screamed to warn me, and I got soaked up to my thighs. Note to self: flip flops are a better idea than boots. Even in winter!
Llandudno beach is pristine, with beautiful white sand, and massive boulders. The best time to shoot there is in the early mornings, when there are only a few people walking their dogs.
The open space is great for families to run around on.
The key to a great family beach shoot, are plenty of ‘freedom photos’. This is where the kids will get to do their thing, be curious, run, explore and be themselves. And then they are happy to come for some naturally posed ones too, because they know they can head off and play again.
This keeps everyone relaxed, and parents aren’t yelling ‘smile for the camera!’
Estie wanted 3 photos framed for their home: one of the three of them, and then an individual one of Mia and Thomas. She is moving to her new office soon, and I’ll be framing two large ones of her children, with white modern frames.
When you’re planning to have a shoot done, think beforehand what you’d like to do with your photos. Framed as wall art, or in an album? Imagine how you’d like to enjoy them.
I will give you the best options of what would work, as well as various frame arrangements. Click here for some design inspiration!
