Family Portrait Shoot on Llandudno Beach/ Kristie + Family
Kristie booked me for a family portrait shoot on Llandudno beach, as a gift for her Mom. She works on yachts, and is based in France, and her siblings and family live in Zambia and Zimbabwe. Shoots are a perfect time for everyone to share some togetherness, especially when they are not always in the same country. We had the beach all to ourselves, and the light was absolutely beautiful. I’m still in touch with Kristie, and we chat on instagram, where I also get to follow all her exciting adventures.
For family shoots, I love to get a mix of naturally posed portraits, as well as more documentary portraits. The interaction and connectedness is what it’s all about.
A family shoot can’t be rushed, so I always encourage my clients to relax and enjoy their time together, being present and in the moment. This is the time to stay off phones and really enjoy the fresh air and surroundings too.
Llandudno Beach, is an idyllic beach with white sand, massive boulders, and a backdrop of part of The Twelve Apostles. During their early morning shoot, the beach was empty with a few random people walking their dogs.
A week or so after their shoot, I had a viewing and ordering session on Zoom with Kristie’s Mom. This is great if you live abroad, or are unable to come through to my studio. During the session, I share my screen, and we go through a collection of the best handpicked images from your shoot.
Kristie’s Mom selected a folio box of fine art printed and matted portraits. These are great if you wish to display at home, get framed, or send to family as gifts. In today’s world, many photos are left unprinted on phones, cameras and hard drives.
One day your children will look for photos of you. What will they find?
