Sachii, 68 – The 50 Over 50 Women’s Portrait Campaign

Sachii, 68

Where are you from, and where do you currently live?

From Canada and currently living in the USA.

If your friends were to describe you, what would they say?

Caring, Inspiring, Knowledgeable, Resourceful

What is your favourite quote or saying?

“The art of knowing is knowing what to ignore.” Rumi

What would you say you are most proud of?

I am most proud of my daughters and their families for living life to the fullest.

I am also proud of my plant-based nutritional supplement business that supports women’s healthy aging – blending ancient remedies and cutting-edge research.

What advice would you give your younger self?

Please, do not underestimate who you are or diminish your capacity for prosperity – spiritually, emotionally, and intellectually.

What is a goal or dream you still wish to accomplish?

First off, my primary goal is healthy aging. We’re in such a fast-paced world now where something new pops up in the blink of an eye.

Rapid change demands a lot of balanced energy from each of us.

It takes resilience to stay in flow without getting thrown off our center.

After all is said and done, If I stay healthy and true to my path, doing what I love and serving others, I’ll achieve something meaningful.

What are your thoughts on ageing?

The concept of aging is used in weird ways.

You know how sometimes people, especially women, feel bad because they think they’re ‘too old’ for something? I don’t believe in that.

It’s not your age that matters; it’s about the sun rising and the joy you find every day.

That’s why I love laughing and focusing on the good things that happen unexpectedly and at any time.

I call it celebrating the flow of ageless living.

What did you enjoy most about The 50 Over 50 Women’s Portrait Campaign? And how did the experience leave you feeling?

Seeing myself from Monica’s perspective, I was startled and empowered by the range of feelings she captured in her photographs of me.

The process was uplifting and thought-provoking, which I enjoyed.

Makeup artist, Donna Hay and I had a lovely day with Sachii.  We celebrated her birthday with her in my studio, enjoying some ‘koeksisters’ and ‘melktert’.

This was Sachii’s first time in South Africa, and I’m so glad that it was a holiday she’ll remember forever.
