Cameron & Cheri’s Wedding / Grootbos Forest Lodge / South Africa

Cameron is a pilot, and Chéri is an air stewardess for Emirates, and they met and fell in love 6 years ago through work! Family and friends flew in from New Zealand, New york,Dubai ,United Kingdom and across the globe to celebrate their union at the lavish Grootbos Private Lodge near Hermanus. Grootbos is a 5 star eco lodge set amongst the most beautiful landscape of fynbos.  It offers spectacular views of the ocean and the reserve.  Their romantic ceremony took place in the Boma area, set amongst milkwood trees, and the sun poured in over everyone.  It was the most spectacular day and the weather was hot and the sky, a perfect blue.  Lana, one of the loveliest wedding co ordinator’s I’ve worked with, is very good friends with Chéri, and they used to fly together. She played a double role of making sure the day ran smoothy, as well as being one of her bridesmaids!

Following the ceremony, family and friends gathered for drinks and canapes in the sunshine, while musician Chris Rain filled the air with his beautiful voice.  It was a privilege to work with White Lines Videography again, their video coverage always leaves me choked up.  A few of us snuck off for the couple shoot, and Lana had organised two gorgeous horses for the shoot, and then another surprise…the new villa, for more photos… and a ‘breather’ of cheese and wine.  Speeches followed, and then the newly weds performed their first dance surrounded by friends and family with sparklers.  It was a fairytale wedding and so wonderful to meet and be part of Cheri and Cameron’s incredible day.
