Susanne & Wolfgang’s Intimate Wedding / Twelve Apostles/ Cape Town
It’s been a while since I’ve photographed a wedding at The Twelve Apostles Hotel and Spa. And it felt so good to be back! The lovely Christiane Verveyen from Kap Events wedding co-ordinating, organised the day beautifully, calmly and meticulously. I love working with her, as she has a very warm and caring way of doing things and her attention to detail is spot on.
When I walked into the bridal suite, I was met by a smiling bride, Susanne. I could just feel her lovely energy, and knew that the day was going to be fun and free of all stress. When her Dad walked into the room, the tears flowed, and that set the tone for the day: lots of tears mixed with laughter.
I’ve been photographing weddings for 15 years now, and have photographed some with close to 300 people. It was amazing to photograph Susanne and Wolfgang’s intimate wedding with 14 people. It was so personal, and the connections felt so deep. When Su walked out with her Dad onto the lawn area, the Rocketeers an acoustic band from Johannesburg played them onto the lawn. They are one of the best bands I’ve ever heard at a wedding, and their music seemed to float over everyone.
Marriage officer Dr Robert Steiner performed the ceremony and had everyone in tears. Drinks, canapes and more tears and laughter flowed as everyone enjoyed the sunshine. We all headed to Llandudno beach for some sunset photos, and the light couldn’t have been any better. Back at the venue, candles were being lit on the table, and the romantic ambiance was set. The beautiful flower arrangements were done by Aspen Flowers.
What a magical day and one of the most emotional weddings I’ve ever photographed in 15 years!
Dearest Monica, thank you so very much for shooting Susanne and Wolfgang’s wedding and helping to create ever lasting memories for them, and for a matter of fact for all of us too 🙂 – you captured the moments and feelings so well, and I agree with you, for me it was also a very special wedding filled with laughter, tears, much love, amazing guests and wonderful music. Yeah!!! It has been a privilege working with you again! To many more. Much love, Christiane
