Newborn Family Photo Session

I’ve done several photo shoots for Cassandra and Jason before, and this one was extra special!  They welcomed their new baby boy, Kai, into the world. He was loved even before he was born, and his sister Sienna is both smitten and protective.

I did their family newborn photo shoot at their home, as they want to be able to look back on their life, and these moments in their home.  I’m so glad we did, as the natural indoor light was so soft and beautiful. Kai was happy to be kissed and cuddled, and happily snoozed on and off throughout the shoot.

My family shoots are very relaxed, as it’s important for me that everyone is comfortable and happy.  I offer gentle direction throughout the shoot, to get the most natural coverage for you.  And as you can tell, I love black and white’s for this type of shoot, especially the documentary mood it creates.  I’ll also add some colour to the mix sometimes, but I know which images work best in BW or colour.
