Jon & Terese’s Wedding / Thorskogs Castle / Sweden

I met up with Jon and Terese in Gothenburg several months ago to talk through their wedding day. It was clear at the meeting just how in love they are, and how much humour they have in their relationship.  They laughed so much, and were so relaxed and excited talking about their wedding day.

They had a dazzling wedding at the luxurious Thorskogg Castle {Swedish, Thorskogg Slott}, in Western Sweden, close to Gothenburg.  Family and friends, mostly from Norway, travelled to the castle on the Friday to enjoy a barbeque with them, before the big day on Saturday.  The day of the wedding, the weather was very temperamental, with rain on and off throughout the day, but it created the most incredible soft light that was beautiful for photographs.  Thorskogg Castle is a really magical and special place, nestled in a peaceful forest, and it was where Jon proposed to Terese!  The staff there are absolutely lovely, going the extra mile to ensure the day ran smoothly.  There were so many special moments throughout the day, and one of them, was Jon wearing the tailcoat his grandfather wore when he got married.

They had their ceremony at Västerlanda Kyrka, close by, and then everyone enjoyed drinks and canapes at the castle.  A delicious five star dinner followed, and their was a mix of tears and laughter during the speeches. Jon and Terese surprised everyone when they opened the dance floor with a graceful waltz.  The music then changed, and everyone hit the dance floor, a new burst of energy at 1am!  It was a fantastic day, and a dream come true to photograph a wedding at Thorskogg Slott.  It’s always hard selecting images for my blog, but here are some favourites, that document the story of their magical day.
